How to Pronounce LH and NH in Portuguese

 

 

   

To conclude the study of the consonants in Portuguese, I’m going to teach you how to pronounce two of the most challenging sounds for English speakers: the LH and NH.

To produce these, your tongue touches most part of the hard palate.

And the most noticeable difference between NH and LH is this: NH is nasal and LH is oral sound.

If you are a native speaker of Spanish, French or Italian it’s easy to pronounce the NH, because you already have this sound in your language.
